weird. it said you had no user config file, which may not be horrible, but what would make it want to delete cephid_17? very strange. you had updated data4.x right? and rebuilt the source? if you're using a prebuilt win32 binary then you're SOL until someone builds a new one against the latest svn rev.

well nobody updated the win32 bin and the data files have been updated. It's likely he's having an issue that i fixed in source last night.

no need to delete and redownload one of the nice things about subversion is that you can go back to one that worked for you.read the TortoiseSVN help file for the how -to

you can update and update your revisions all day long. But until the win32 vegastrike is rebuilt, you'll have the same errors. I fixed a bug in the source last night, since then nobody has rebuilt vegastrike for win32.

You'll have to revert or sit tight until someone commits a new win32 build of vegastrike.

Every couple days to a week. Last build was Saturday. You could revert to rev. 11921 if you don't want to wait. If the same thing happens, keep rolling back until it works. Good luck hope someone gets around to building you that binary 8)

When the whim strikes  not that ad but they are usually quite timely i am surprised that one hasn't been committed yet but not many of the devs have the proper build environment set up.And they are busy boys.

VC8 or so. technically it should be as easy as having all the dependencies needed, and loading up the correct job file and compiling ... then moving the binaries to your data4.x dir and running it.

In practice, windows sucks for a development environment friendly OS and there's likely to be hiccups.

i downloaded the files

Post by whatch1 »

I downloaded the files via tortise

I downloaded the Visual C++ app from the instructions

They versioned the "explative deleted" thing again

wiki instructions dont make sense

"In Visual C++ 8.0 (2005 Express),

under Tools...Options...Visual C++ Directories, add an Include directory for

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Platform SDK for Windows Server 2003 R2\Include

and an Include directory for

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Platform SDK for Windows Server 2003 R2\Include\mfc"

under tools.options leads to a dialog box not include

the blinking option is not there

In the Tools/Options dialog box are you completely sure there is no tab/section labeled "Visual C++ Directories" in one of the menus on the side?

As are all Microsoft interfaces, Visual C++ is pretty confusing. I believe there are four different settings screens in VC8, all with names like "properties", "options" "settings".

Anyway hope you manage to figure this out. If not, you can use the EXE that is in subversion... it will be updated periodically so should be good enough.
