Sounds like a conflict to me.
just delete the vegastrike.config, and do another SVN update which will restore the config. Then you can go into VsSetup and change settings again.

sphere light maps are created only once. (not sure if we ever recreate them if they already exist...maybe for new campaigns. dont know) I do know that if they already exist, you wont notice the bug that i fixed, but was still present in the win32 build ...
That's why i suggest everyone to clear out their .vegastrike/textures/backgrounds directory when there are updates to the background images.
Ideally, we would rebuild sphere light maps whenever the source images are newer than the sphere map image.
Your only real option if you dont want to wait for the update to win32 is to download an older revision of the data4.x/textures/backgrounds directory before it was DDS'ified.
Though i suspect an updated win32 executable is not that far away ...and you'll just have to redownload the textures again
