Sell Llama gave me Negative Credits.
Hi guys, new to the forum, i already posted once on the translation area. i'll start helping the Portuguese (Brasil) version come to life.
I have downloaded the 0.5 Beta running in windows, played for some time, and found this bug.
I just got enough credits to buy a awesome (Robin) Craft, so i go buy the ship no problems buy some upgrades and when i sell the default Llama to get some more cash for upgrades, i got my credits to -153,77.
Also, tried to buy a Dodo several times and it screen pauses for a sec as if it was loading but nothing happens.
Another issue, several items when sold, still sell for the same cash as a new one. not the used part value.
Is this the right place to keep what might be bugs? or should i open a bug into Bug tracker in sourceforge.net?
Thank you.

Your beginning ship the Llama is not salable repeat it is by intention that you can not sell it. as for the others they may be because that save is corrupted(-137.77 credits )so start a new game and edit the save file to increase the starting credits which is right at the beginning of the file between carets"^" not to much as your bank balance effects game difficulty.

Well i understand but at least make the ship sell for like 1 credit and show sell value somewhere.Your beginning ship the Llama is not salable repeat it is by intention that you can not sell it.
Since you can only sell the ship after you get a new one. maybe 5000 Credits for a dead mans ship would be ok?
The save is still fine. i can still get money from missions. i did save before buying the Robin so no problem at all.as for the others they may be because that save is corrupted(-137.77 credits Wink )
I think ill try instaling the SVN version on Debian Today.
Thx, guys.

Oh, so it's a bug that you can actually sell it, i remember it didn't work in 0.4.3 and thought that this has been changed in the current svn, cause i could sell my lama.beginYour beginning ship the Llama is not salable repeat it is by intention that you can not sell it.

When you do an update click the log button start at 11700 or so that way you can see what was changed and usually why(bug fix, content addition or change bump map etc) don't want all of the log be days reading

Loki,
I did install the SVN version Debian Linux yesterday, had some install issues ill ask later, but i did get all the new features so i guess its right.
And i did test, new game -> Save -> Hack Credits -> Buy Robin -> Sell Llama. on the SVN.
Its selling for around -5999.50 (negative) i think the ship is not that bad so i have to give money to get rid of it
JackS,
didnt test this on the SVN yet, might do it tonight.
On the SVN issue, i couldnt seem to "make soundserver" some error i can post later, i did run "make vegastrike" and "make vssetup" without problems, game runs with all the new features and sound and music so i got a little confused.
Was this normal?

I think it should be sellable even if for 1 credit. if someone dont want to keep it, we should have the right to do so. unless it would mess the game in some way.Your beginning ship the Llama is not salable repeat it is by intention that you can not sell it.
JackS,
In Version 0.5 Beta windows this affects other ships if i have just the right amount of credits say exactly 140000 credits for a hyena. if i have 140001 it works. If you search through the bug tracker, the Dodo purchase issue has been fixed

We no longer use a separate soundserver binary, so not building one is now normal
I wouldn't be particularly concerned (at the moment) over sales not going through with "exactly" the right amount of available funds -- both price and total credits are represented as floating point values, and the low bits aren't displayed.
Haven't had a chance to investigate the Llama.begin sales issue meaningfully yet.
The Llama.begin became salable when the MPL entry was created so that it would have a unique description. (It could not be sold in prior versions of VS because it was not in the MPL) The list price in the MPL is set to $1, but I'm not yet certain why this causes the sell value to become negative. This behavior should clearly be fixed.
(FWIW, when the plot-as-intended finally gets implemented (whenever that is) there are intended to be strong disincentives to actually selling the craft prior to completion of some early plot points. That, however, is unrelated to any previous or current sales issues.)

No problem at all, just posting what i find out on this. i got kinda curious on the issue.Haven't had a chance to investigate the Llama.begin sales issue meaningfully yet.

Just wanna help, since my programming stills are rusted and at least 5 years out of date, playtesting and translation are the only things i can do for now, so ill report all strange things i see.
By the way, im not used to use forums so, is there a problem quoting a lot or too long posts? anyway i'm open to corrections and hints.
I hope i dont bug anyone. i'm a very friendly person.

SVN
Just ran SVN version and i noticed two things.
1-Sound at least on my machine is kinda laggy, a little out of sinc.
2-The main menu load screen shows like this.
Tryed several videos modes full screen and windoned but same thing. this is the only screen not working right. anyone know what this might be? I can still load the games.
Running Debian Linix Etch, Gforce 6600, Nvidia drivers updated.

That is a known issue and not ours but the 169 series driver from Nvidia we noticed it when it was released http://vegastrike.sourceforge.net/forum ... hp?t=10225 but thx for the screen shot one work around is to revert to the 100 series but it is just an inconvenience on initial load so why bother there are some new features in the Linux driver that make it much better in general.

Yeah i guess you are kinda funny that ATI's Linux driver is better than Nvidia's ATM could it be that ATI has GPL'ed theirs has made the difference.

There where a couple windows nvidia posts but they turned out to be corrupted files in the users install so yeah just the nvidia Linux driver series 169 the previous series 100 one is OK.you don't need to put Hardware details in yours sig but a text file with them can be handy to have on file if you are posting about a potential hardware issue

Anotehr issue im having now.
i get this " cannot create mcop directory" error and VS dont start.
As root is all fine.
Thank you guys again for the info on the driver.

so compatability becomes compatibility the a to i English is weird in it's diphthongs sometimes.

Loki, Again thx for pointing me on the right direction, i should have googled it myself
If anyone have that error, what hapened was i decided to re-compile VS with all the libs i could see configure checked for, so i intaled the libs and recompiled.
That made VS start to (or try to) access ARTS sound server and fail, cause i dont run KDE. and since i dont plan on using. i Just removed the -DEV package from LIBARTSC and re-compiled again. So VS dont know where the lib is and runs. and since no more Nvidia Gliches i can play normaly. The sound Slowdown i had was the Nvidia bugged driver slowing down the computer not just the sound.
Now everything is working.
just another comment a fully loaded Llama with Iron now behaves like a Truck...
I think ill just get 70000 and buy a Sicle + 1 Light Ion Cannon to hunt pirates.
