Super speed

So far I only get this with my fully loaded begin.llama, when I hit after burner and spec at the same time theirs a flash on my screen and my ship has 80,000KPS speed, without spec. Its a bit of a pain cause it takes for ever to slow down. If I restart the game everything is fine untill I after burn and spec. It doesn't seem to do with anyother ship I have either

I think that's the "y" key you are using, i.e. non-combat mode. With SPEC it's not all that useful, but you can use it to go places if SPEC doesn't work, for example.

In the real world there is no maximum speed.

well, speed is immaterial. There is no maximum kinetic energy / momentum?
