What did I do?

All I did was take a few Aera cargo runs, have not killed anyone for a couple days and all of the sudden, merchants,KLKK, Highborn and a few others are after my ass all over the place. Now the only faction that will hire me is the unknown and factions of the ISO

It seems you have the same problem as me, HATRED.

Just do certain missions from certain factions and it may raise your friendship with that faction...
Or forget the diplomatic crap, and bombard them with a few torps, that ought to do it!

Here's the most basic hack for whatever ails you: the savefile. Find your savefile location; on my XP install, they're at C:\Program Files\Vegastrike\Vegastrike-0.4.3\.vegastrike\save, but YMMV. Open the one you play, and look at the first line. As an example, here's mine:

The first item or pair of items describes the system, in Sector/System syntax. If you know where you want to go, change that to the system you want. The second describes how many credits you have available; it should be obvious what to do. Everything between the second carat and the numbers describes your fleet; I have a Llama and stock models of Aelar, Lancelot and Gawain, and they're all in Cephid_17. Happy hacking.

I just lucked into a research station, and what did they have there, a cloaking device, work on everyone but the Aera. Go figure....
So it is best I do not piss them off for awhile until I am ready to pick that fight.

@Captain{}Blood the reason the Aera pierce the cloak is that there version is much better than the stock one if you ever get the chance to dock at one of there planets or bases get one

Hello

The aereans are quit cool, they have good hull coatings, the best in the game.

Try to make other factions more gentle with diplomacy, pressing "1" hundreds of times,
if you targeted a ship of them, they go more gentle with you after a while.

How do I bust a corvette? That thing has some nasty long range guns on it and I definitely need a plan of attack or at least a ship that can hold a fusion cannon.

I can't find a cloaking device anywhere (latest SVN). I went through several systems (Aera and otherwise), landed on different planets and even several research bases...still no cloaks.

I'm also not finding any hull upgrades other than the reinforced cockpit that I can't even use. No more Rlaan Microshielding.

I and my brother use a Lancelot; mount some big guns on it, and attack from a direction they can't reply in. The real scheme is to snipe their turrets until they can't reply, then unleash the Imperial Hammer of DOOM(pat pend).

I have something a little bigger than a lancelot that I am experimenting with. and it has one helluva cargo capacity

and some nice long range guns.check my other post.
