Vegastrike Questions!

Post by Kyretzn »

Hey people oF Vegastrike!

;) Long time lurker, short time poster.
(hehE).

Ive messed around in Vegastrike for a while, Ive hacked the Savegame file to mess with all kinds of ships and I was just wondering...

How do I get to Aera systems legitly? Without having to hack to get Aera ships and Weaponary?

:) Thanks!
Btw, I thnk this is a good game, you can tell a lot of love and effort went into its construction. Im greatly anticipating the Multiplayer release.

Browse the Forum for VSNav, find yourself a nice Aerasystem, check in at the next Starfortress and don't forget to bring your Platinum Visa, for those Aeraships are expansive if bought legally.
The smallest available Aera ship, the Nicander, is also available at Bio Simple planets.

I've never had trouble with the provided windows VSNav binary.

You know, if there was somewhere where all of the working utilities can be downloaded without having to learn SVN, a lot more people would stop complaining about the current release.

I've downloaded the map and the nav. Excited to try it out. :D

There was talk about using a snapshot or "nightly" build system like the ur-quan masters have (I even have a copy of their shell script) or using the sf.net compile farm, but nobody wanted to invest the time to set up and maintain such a system.

If you or someone else wants to figure it out, talk to one of the project admins.

Not quite as regular as nightly. Probably just weekly or even monthly. So that people will be able to use some features that are working but will not be included until the next release.

People are busy anyway. *sigh*

The periodicity isn't the issue, the issue is investing time in to set the damn thing up.
Hellcatv told me that the SF.net compile farm looked complicated... and when hellcatv thinks something is complicated I don't have much hope for figuring it out myself. :)
