What kind of ship is this?

I was out cruising one night and saw this beast go by me, in the hud it's name said "Tesla" so I jury rigged my save file to have a look. This thing is loaded. I tried a bounty on 20 Area ships and was able to wipe them out in about three minutes using autopilot.

Yea it's a real bear to turn, makes you wish you had brakes. No need to turn in a fight though with auto pilot, 9 times out of ten it'll put your enemy target smack dab in front of you :)

What is it loki, is it called a "Tesla"?

AFAIK, you can't purchase it. You can freely hack your savefile to get it, of course, but in actual gameplay you can't get it any more than you can get a corvette or yavok(?).

That might have been a Kahan. The forward section of the Kahan has similar protrusions on the sides, and it has short stubby "wings" in the aft where it's p-minus beams are mounted.

When multiplayer comes out and clans form up, I would suggest such a ship being made availbe to a clan so that the players can learn to work as a team with fighter and cap ship cover. For trading clans, on or two of these would be perfect escorts for convoys. Imagine a fifty freighter convoy, two of these bad boys and a couple of squadrons of fighters for convey support, I can see the pirates swarming out of the wood work for this one. and a pirate clan may do such a thing, could you imagine the footage taken from just such an encounter, this is the stuff videos are made of.

Now your talking, a full fledged battle raid with footage being taken. And by the way , if hollywood decides to use any of the footage, they have to pay the players in the battle scene for their appearence, even if it is online.

OK, here is the lowdown on the Tesla. At 37 million metric tons, do not expect to turn on a dime. I have been flying this bad boy around and let me tell you you have to plan your moves well and forget about the quick turning. when you start sliding sideways, it takes foreever to stop. you have to move in straight lines stop and then make your turn. Docking at stations take real talent, you have to use the external view to line up without running into the station not that a pissed off station has the fire power to do any damage to you. I have six fusion cannons mounted with autotracking since it is a handful as it is to fly . I am slowly outfitting all the turrets and hope to get all 50 long turret pads mounted soon. It can sustain 9 million megajoules of damage and has 81,000 megajoules of armour on all points with 71000 mj of shield damage to sustain. It also comes with a cloaking device. All the factions that hate me seem to leave me alone for some strange reason. Maybe they don't want to tangle with my turrets, (ya think) . as for trading, this thing has a hold of 1,000,000,000,000 cm^3. I can literally clean out a market and very few pirates will even make the attempt to even come near me. If a corvette tries, it is going to get a very warm surprise, (fusion temps). If Multiplayer ever gets set up, I would not mind piloting the squadron around in one of these as Captain of a battle group. with all the turrets, there would be adequate cover for a fighter group returning for resupply and repair. I LIKE IT!!!!!!!!.
