Vega Trek 0.3.6 and 0.5.0 release !

Post by Elderoy »

I recently speak with ace123 and he speaks about a new version.
This message was in the 0.3.5 subject and i decided to deplace it here.

ace123 wrote:If you want to use the 0.5.0 version of the Mac release without downloading the whole 500 MB Package, I recommend using subversion.

You can download subversion for the mac here:
http://metissian.com/projects/macosx/subversion/
or here:
http://downloads.open.collab.net/binaries.html

Then, to get the 0.5.0 version of the engine do in the Terminal:
/usr/local/bin/svn checkout --ignore-externals https://vegastrike.svn.sourceforge.net/ ... /trunk/mac

Once you have VegaStrike.app you just download the 0.3.6 data, rename the folder to "Resources".
Then right click on VegaStrike.app, do Show Package Contents, and move "Resources" into the Contents folder.

I don't really know who is involved in making vega trek, but they might have some more ideas on their forum at wcjunction.com
I am sorry about my bad language but i'm french and english is -unfortunatly- not my cup of tea.

Data is in general compatible with users of all platforms--however, there are a few exceptions, since if you develop a mod for Windows and are not careful, you might run into case sensitivity problems.

You should be able to download the Vega Strike 0.5.0 version, and extract the Vega Trek release into there.

I also have a copy of the 32-bit linux binaries here:
http://vegastrike.sourceforge.net/users ... es-050.tgz
if you don't want to compile them or download a 500 MB package.

Anyway I have no idea if this will work. I would advise you to go to the Vega Trek forums here (about 2/3 down the page):
http://wcjunction.com/phpBB2/
and ask there or see if there are any threads about running it in Linux.

I'll try to put those 64-bit binaries in a tarball also later today.

Here they are:
http://vegastrike.sourceforge.net/users ... /binaries/

Now you only need to download 11 megabytes to get the executable programs.
