AI again & other bugs

To show the strange AI maneuvers which are hard to describe i have now two videos.

The first one shows a talon and a gladius fighting each other, watch the slide spin maneuvers which shouldn't be:

Second shows an attack on a drayman, find the little demon and see how it slides left-right like a printerhead to shoot the drayman:

The last one is recorded with the last VS binary and shows that non-scooping tractor beams with autotracking do not work (since ages), who solves this problem?

I needed to do some executable-side additions to the AI in order to be able to disable sliding, those are in the last WCU patch... now I can start making some xml files.

Alternatively, if I remember right Gemini Gold has its own executable branch. If you tell me where to grab the source, I can do stuff there, too.

it shouldn't matter too much what version--if you can give us a lil diff with just those changes I'll put them in ASAP :-) remember we'reusing svn now... it should still build with VC6 right now, no?

I'm usig VC7.... and I grabbed from CVS right after you said you had uploaded. Not too much stuff, but hpefully you'll like the new launch things.

Can I send you everything? how do you want to do this? ^_^;



For now if you want a more WC-like behavior, try this:

* Up the space drag tenfold.
* Increase forward and afterburner accel tenfold.
* Decrease other accels tenfold.

Admittedly the main reason why I put in the "space drag" thing, apart from allowing sort-of-atmospheric, is for wc games. :)

What is the status? Is sliding and the tractor beam fixed in the main vs binary? Keep me updated on this.
