Mabye. Actually, i am reminded of a little tidbit from WCII. If your cursor was over the ITTS thingy, ie. it was red, the shots would converge inward more depending on its distance. Also, i got a good look at an Exeter Destroyer in action yesterday, and took note of a few things. Feel free to correct me if Im wrong here. The tubes coming out from the middle to the side, I always figured them as more of a launch bay thing, like thats where the fighters launched from, not gun slots. Alsp, the exeter had a three barreled turret on the top( I have no idea if that can actually be rendered, but the number of barrels isn't the real issue) that I am pretty sure is the main anti capital ship turret on the destroyer, as it doesn't look like it swivels much, so mabye the antimatter guns should go there?

Paladin: as far as I know there inst any tutorial about how to do cockpits, but you can figure out by yourself, just use a bit of "reverse thinking".

Open up a folder that has a cockpit that is already done, and check out all the files. You can just open them with wordpad. Given enough time, you can figure it out because doing cockpits inst complicated, it just takes time.

First you need to know how the cockpits should look.

That usually entails screen captures from the games. That assumes you have the games to do it with.

If the game is DOS based, DosBox that has its own key you can press in rapid succession to grab and make images. In Doze it's a matter of the game programme being set up for screenshots, or pressing shift + prtSc/SysRq then pasting into a photo programme and saving in a usable format.

Once the images have been saved, they can be editied in something like The Gimp or Adobe.

If you run doze and can't afford Adobe, the Gimp has been ported to Doze under the GPL and is available for download, though the fun filters and things are missing. THEY cost money.

Creating all new is NOT my Forte. Playing with 2-D art is fun, though. I've even taken some Gillette Elvgren, Alberto Vargas, Moran, Olivia and Sorayama Hajime images to grace the sides and noses of my ships -- a-la WWII.

Talk about interesting fun. The texturing disappears under the images, unless you make them transparent layers and overlay them, but I like the glossy look better, to be honest.

-- EDIT --
I LOVE the way my Demon came out in Hot Metalic Pink and Metalic Baby Blue, but getting the nose art right has been a challenge. But then I'm playing with 2-D art in a 3-D world, so it's understandable. I used to do photography for an avocation when I was able to enjoy the sun. Now I do 2-D image editing when I'm not playing Privateer.

If it isn't in the docs, look at the config file. It'll tell you there. I used to know what it was, but it's been over a year since I played with it.

Ctrl-F5 I checked the Readme. For the first time since getting the program lol. Also, you mentioned a program called Gimp, and a download associated with Doze. I don't have Photoshop (woe is me :( ) and I since I run DOSbox, is Gimp still an option? Or am I stuck with MSPaint.

You can just download WC kilrathi saga from the-underogs ( www.the-underdogs.org ). They have WC1 and WC2 and both of them work on windows XP. So you wont need dosbox.

I had tried that already too. They don't like me. Not HOTU but the Kilrathi Saga. Sound problems aside, for some reason the cursor has decided to live in the corner for all eternity. But its ok, I prefer the originals anyway :D. And I am kind of a DOS junkie, so I am comfortable with DOSbox. What I need isn't the game, but something to edit the screenshots I take. Like photoshop. Will Print Shop work you think?

The Gimp is a full feature imaged editing studio produced under the same license as VegaStrike, PR & WCU.

I'm not sure of the address. Look for it in google.

DOS has nothing to do with The Gimp. It's ported to Doze from Linux. It MIGHT be ported to DOS, but I can't imagine why.

-- EDIT --

LOOK HERE

http://www.gimp.org/
http://www.gimp.org/downloads/

Copied and Pasted Shamelessly...

The GIMP is the GNU Image Manipulation Program. It is a freely distributed piece of software for such tasks as photo retouching, image composition and image authoring. It works on many operating systems, in many languages.

This is the official web site of the GIMP, and contains information about downloading, installing, using, and enhancing it. This site also serves as a distribution point for the latest releases. We try to provide as much information about the GIMP community and related projects as possible. Hopefully you will find what you need here. Grab a properly chilled beverage and enjoy.

-- EDIT -- AGAIN --

Look HERE too....

http://www.gtk.org/

This is the GTK or Gimp Took Kit.
That's for creating GUI's Read the page.

Those were the first two addresses that came up when I used google.

This third one is a tutorial of sorts, but I did NOT visit the site for more than the corrected address.

Okay, this is going almost too far, but I couldn't resist adding this address with the others on The Gimp

http://gimp-win.sourceforge.net/

For Doze based installers....

LOL. As the saying goes, It's no further than your nose.
