I like the idea. So we could have it as part of the story, say we have some very inventive character among the refugees we bring to our secret colonies, and she comes up with ideas how we could combine this and that and make a station or a carrier or whatever, and shows you a pencil sketch, and if you go with it you're rewarded with say a carrier that's actually better than "real" carriers in some respects, maybe more capacity, or the turrets are placed in such a way that friendly fire opportunities are minimized...

well, it's just a thought... could be a badguy capship, could be lynch's flagship, could be something that you can put together as a one-off (mission requirements: capture 1 dorkathra and 1 draymaster).

or it could be a pirate "base".
