Hey spirit, about cockpits

Post by Fireskull »

In a another post you said:

Kitty bases need base interface screens ^^; and about cockpits:

Arrow (can be used for a lot of small fighters)
Korlarh (can be used for kilrathi cargo ships)
The Armada Dralthi cockpit
Banshee (good general purpose bomber cockpit)
Broadsword
Sabre
Rapier

Tonight I checked the .zip you sent to me, and it seens the cockpit for the arrow is already done, its using the same as a stileto. I dunno what I should do with it really :P You meant you want the cockpit to be the same as in wc3?

Nah, if it's not broken don't fix it :) right now I'll really take any cockpit... (eep, that sounds dirty) we can match them to ships later, given of course that a canon ship will go to a canon cockpit (except for the Dralthi which has two, I say we use the WC1 cockpit for the Dralthi itself, and use the Armada Dralthi cockpit for another kat ship)

I think I just finished the broadsword...

I can send it to you, but I am really clueless if it works or not since I dont know how to put it IG. Also i had a small problem, the broadsword doesnt seens to have space for a fuel gauge, but I put the files for that in anyway.

Chances are it doesnt works but eh, maybe I got lucky :P whats your e-mail?

There is this thing about armada cockpits...

You see, the hands are not of a human, but of a kilrathi! Possibly we could leave the option of playing as the cats open?

spiritplumber@gmail.com (attach files as zip or rar) and i'll look at the fuel gauge :)

about flying as a cat: why not? it's mostly a matter of writing a campaign and doing the art. Or maybe the pilot is channeling freddy krueger.

BTW, the Talon cockpit has been done by masteroforion ^_^; just mentioning it so nobody reinvents the wheel.

gmail doesn't like zip files, so rename the .zip to .zip.jpg or something :)

as I said I am clueless.

I dont know how to test it, and I dont know if I did things right. So I just did things kinda blindly, just checking out other cockpits and such, and hoped for the best.

I'm going to put it in the next upload so you can look at it :) i really like the shield-armor placement, but the backgrounds are a bit off.

What you want to do is change the units.csv row of a unit to point to a cockpit (doesn't even have to be the "right" unit).

The nice thing about cockpits, unlike meshes, is that you just hit F1 twice to reload the cockpit instead of exiting and reentering the game.

I tried to change my units.cvs... but being the clueless one I am, when I do it WCU refuses to load heheh.

I will just wait for you to upload the next patch. What went wrong with the BGs tho?
