Privateer Remake devel version nav map

Post by JKeefe »

Maybe it's just me, but I think my nav map is acting screwy.

I took this shot just after jumping out of Pentonville. I had completed Tayla mission 1 and was flying Tayla mission 2. Where's Pentonville???

Pardon the image quality - this is resized and then sharpened a great deal so that the text is legible. You can also see the problem with the labeling of the system you are in - I am nowhere near Capela, I am in 119ce.

I know where it SHOULD be, but, to be honest, the map for me is superfluous. If they do an autopsy when I croak they'll find a cell cluster with a DEFINITE resemblance to Gemini. I almost never use the map, I just use the info. Maybe I should start? Remember, Pentonville is supposed to be a secret pirate base, but at the same time it IS an old mining base.

Where's Pentonville? Nav 1 in 119CE.

Could be a side effect of Pentonville not being reachable from 119ce (for NPCs). Of course, along those lines if you are using the devel version, you aren't supposed to be able to get to Mastif, or have it show up on the map..

Blast! I KNEW I was going to have to learn to use the map. Why did I ever bother to learn where everything was from memory? Okay, okay, along with using the infor screens I'll start using the maps, too. <sigh> it ain't never easy, is it?

in the devel versions you can buy quadrants too...

as for pentonville--ti's a hidden system... you need to find it yourself...

:-)

I could easily add it when you take the mission from tayla--

Maybe I need to rename my existing svn directory and get all new?
I already have a full system map. Or is that because I have a saved game with it already working in all areas?

I'll need to start a fresh game with a fresh ship.

Uh oh - I am using the development version, and this screenshot came from a new game that I started after the devel version was installed...

Bit rot? Carryovers from previous versions?

This weekend I will be a doing a full reformat/reinstall, and then I will be installing the latest devel version, so perhaps things will be cleaner.
