Capship poll... The Kilrathi style between WC2 and WC3 changed a ton and a half to accommodate the different engine. Which would work better for WCU?

The choice in the middle sounds like a don't care, but I do; I think we should have both. But one group should be abundant and the other rare; I don't care which. ;-)

What I was thinking was giving the kilrathi_insys and kilrathi_rebels factions older stuff and the actual kilrathi army the newer stuff.

Whatever; I don't even know what either look like, but all I'm asking is NOT equal numbers. There should be ship models that are very common, some less common, some much less common, some extremely rare, and some you have to play for 10 years straight to see them. If you put equal numbers of everything, it's like cooking a recipi with equal weight of all the ingredients... ;-)
BTW, I hope the previous Drayman isn't *completely* gone. It was a nice ship and maybe someone somewhere should fly one for show :)

Re previous drayman: No, I saved everything about it and even got a better texture for the top.

I think Drayman is a brand name and we're seeing various product lines they offer...

I like this idea a lot. There is a timespan between the WC games, so it's not unconceivable that ship designs could change. It's a pretty radical change, but war demands unconventional thinking at times...

And Chuck's 'ship sightings' comment is right on target, too. Depending on what system you're in, the likelihood of seeing Ship X should vary.

By dividing ships factionally you would get to see most modern hardware either on the frontlines or en route to the frontlines... so I guess that works out. :)

Hey, question...

WHAT DO WE CALL THE KILRATHI CAPSHIPS THAT NEVER GOT A NAME IN WING COMMANDER 3?

Find the closest match to a known capship and increment the version?

I think there were Dralthi, Dralthi II, Dralthi III...

Or we could go with slightly modified names, like the Dorkir and it's successors (Dorkira? Dorkitha?) whose names I can't exactly remember. It's on a Solsector.net site, I know that much.

I voted for WC3 style models just because there seem to be more of them floating around that could be used.
