Converting cob files to obj files.

Converting cob files to obj files.

Hia guys.

Ive got a question. How do I convert the cob files to correct obj files?

The cob files have inverted faces in them and Im using Deep Exploration to convert them to obj files. But even if I do swap the faces before converting the file it does NOT save the info when it converts.

How do you guys do it?

I was using Deep Exploration and Inverting the faces (there is an option in the program) and then saving the files. So it really depends on what progrma you are using. I am tryign to get around to converting all the files into obj format, but have not had time lately

Yeah thats what I do as well.. I have tried with Deep exp 2.0 (reg) and 3.5 (unreg). I have also tried with 3D Exploration 1.7 (the prequal to Deep Exp).

What I do is I click on the object so I see it in the 3d viewer. Mark the object. Invert the faces from the tools menu. Then use either save as or convert files. Neither store the inverted faces.

Do I need to do something for them program to store the inverted faces????

How are you storing them? as cob again? i never had a problem after i resaved them. I am using 2.0 (reg) and have not had a problem. If you need me to do a conversion of certian ships in the meantime let me know

Ok Ive finally managed to do it.

This is what I had to do.

1. Invert faces.
2. Save to .x format
3. Save .x model to .obj model
