Strange problem with an imported ship

Hi,

I imported the Skipray Blastboat into Vegastrike, but the result is rather strange---the forward part of the hull is semitransparent on the player's ship and nonexistent on computer controlled ships:

Any ideas what might be causing this? I'm getting this message regarding the blastboat on the console:
