How to calculate the mass of a ship
I'm pretty certain that I've read something about the topic in the vegastrike forum a few years ago but I can't find it at the moment. How should I estimate the mass of a fighter or capital ship? Is there any script that does the job?

Ok, here's how I'm doing this at the moment: I have a script from the blender forum that calculates the volume of an object if it fulfills certain restrictions. I then calculate the ships mass at ca. 800kg per m^3.
