Auto-Tracking and what does it do?

If I want something to auto track, I damn well expect the gun to lock onto my target and when I press the space bar, I expect said target to blast into smithereens (say 1/3 of the time). Yet apparently, all I can see is that two extra squares pop up...possibly.

Call me stupid, but isn't that Assisted Tracking rather than Auto-Tracking? Or am I using the auto tracking enhancement wrong?

Btw. Read the manual...it's uh...not very [strike]good[/strike] complete.

Auto-tracking only works after it is engaged "l" key the targeting square is now solid assisted targeting projects a small square in front of your target you aim at the square.Missile locks highlight the target in a huge star outline some bases may take your approaching with a locked missile as bad manners. As for the manual editing the wiki is easy your forum account is valid for the wiki as well. The tracking function is not instantaneous so extreme manoeuvres will drop the lock.

Enjoy the Choice :)

... that's interesting because I can't stop my missiles from auto locking in that case. On approach it always locks on regardless of how I set it and if I do obtain a lock and then fire, I've never yet had a missile hit my opponent.

When you say star, do you mean the four pointed thing that seems to lock on after about three seconds or so? Me thinks I'll have to do some more experimenting.

Yeah that's the missile lock you get a HUD light when someone has a lock on you if your missile load out is mixed(non-locking/locking) toggle the "w" key to select the non-locking types on a base approach if your relation to that faction is negative. As for missiles missing that will happen a lot if the missile has a high delta velocity in regard of the target. The missile just does not have the acceleration to catch up to the target.
