Can I make the HUD opaque?

Hi everyone,

The board has been very helpful so far, so I appreciate it. Is there anyway to make the HUD opaque and/or eliminate the background star fields? Some are so bright, I can't see anything like, for example, enemies.

To make HUDs opaque, you could turn "high quality sprites" off in vegastrike.config. That will turn off alpha blending for HUDs, and I imagine it would work to get you opaque HUDs.

If that fails, you have to edit the background pngs used for them, you'll have to inspect the cockpit files in data/cockpits to see which files are being used, and edit them.

Thanks for your help, the sprite thing didn't work. I'm going to try some of the different settings first in vssetup. I'm using the highest for everything currently.
