svn: file not under version control

Post by samweis2111 »

Hi,

unfortunately I underestimated the amount of files and data to be downloaded. I started the checkout with

Code: Select all

svn co https://vegastrike.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/vegastrike/trunk/data data
in the evening, expected about 500-600MB and ordered the computer to shutdown after some hours.
I got 1.3 GB, then the download was interrupted. So far so good, shouldn't be a problem, svn cleanup should fix it - but it does not!
It leaves me with an error

Code: Select all

~/vegastrike$ svn cleanup data
svn: in directory »data«vn: error while executing »mify-wcprop« i»dat
svn»data/apon_list.xml« is nounder version control
[/code]

Is there a way to fix this?
Or do I have to delete the entire directory and all 1.3GB and start over?

Thanks in advance

Thanks for that report I will look in to why it is saying that it is not under version control because the last time i looked it most definably was under version control as all our weapons are defined in that file :? And will post here when i discover why and any action necessary on your part to clean up your local repo

Enjoy the Choice :)

Thanks for the quick reply.

I am almost convinced that there is nothing wrong with weapon_list.xml, and that the issue is rather that svn got screwed up when received the SIGTERM at shutdown. So if you don't have a quick fix don't waste your time.
I'll rather waste mine ;-) and start over.
After all it's me who screwed up.

It's just that it teases the heck out of me to know that most of it is already there...
I'll try to delete the lock file, the logfiles and all the stuff in .svn/tmp/prop-base and .svn/tmp/text-base and then have it svn update, so that it does not know that it ran once and failed.
Maybe that does the trick.

Thanks again

It looks like it all went through smoothly after I deleted those files.
I have not compiled and test-played yet, but svn exited successfully.

Wow! What a massive amount of data and artwork!
Last time I downloaded vegastrike it was about 220MB I believe.
That must have been long ago.... ;-)

Thanks for keeping on with the good work!

One of the reasons we pre-compress the textures now  to trim that big gulp just a bit but svn is still almost double the tarball download  lots of history to keep track of i guess  And there is a high quality option for the textures that is even more of a gulp if your rig can handle it our performance has become GPU limited :(

Enjoy the Choice :)

ASRock KT7VT2, Athlon XP 2200+, 1GB RAM, nVidia 7600 GS with 256MB
I will see how that works - unfortunately it is most probably not going to happen before next weekend.

Best regards

Loki,

What option would that be? just what i wanted to test my new rig capability.

Compile parameters?

Trust me. Your rig has to be THE rig. Check mine in my signature. I sometimes notice extreme lag at jump points when there are lots of ships around, as well as when I see a highly detailed space station (My settings are at MAX). Though when you are not looking at hundreds of ships or a highly detailed station, the game runs awesome.

Ah thats a know bug, ace123 knows about it since last year, look at his GL artifacts thread.

Big stations / Jump nodes / slows frate rate a lot. when this gets fixed the game will be a lot smoother.

Anyway, I got to test that hi-res textures.
