Atmospheric and planetary raid missions?

Is it possible for any craft to enter planetary atmospheres? If yes, the features and technologies required to simulate atmospheric flight properly will be implemented at some point in the future.

there has been some fairly long threads on this just scroll down but a search whould probaly be faster.with the move to the Ogre back-end i think this was one things that would be possible

This is a commonly requested feature. As loki said, the OGRE port will make this possible.
