I want have a diary function in the game to write down some personal notes
like what were my lates plans.
Where did i want to fly next?
Were did i bought something and where did i want to sell it?
What important mission do i have to fulfill next?
What ship modification do i need to buy next which one was planned to buy
What was the name of that pirate, i need to hunt and where can i found him, were was he seen in the past? etc.
All this is especially a very nice feature when i have played vegastrike
some weeks ago and can't remember what i wanted to do next.
It is also imporant such a feature shouldn't be bound to a save game,
because it could be also very handy ingame when playing the game for the whole evening.

Use Scratch paper, or post-it notes?
But, I understand the frustration

Why would you not have this included in the save game? If you have trouble remembering what was going on a week later, then you'd want it saved with the game. Perhaps I'm just misunderstanding?Cordess wrote:It is also imporant such a feature shouldn't be bound to a save game,

That's what i do with Morrowind all the day and it is an ugly solution.CoffeeBot wrote:Use Scratch paper, or post-it notes?
I have so many papers on my desk, that it's really hard to find the correct one.

When i fly from station 1 to station 2 I don't want to allways
create a new save game entry, that's what i meant with don't bound it to save game function.
The note should of course be saved when saving a game, but it
should be also saved in RAM autmatically during the game without the requierment of creating a new sage game file.

Everything is "saved in RAM automatically" by definition...
So you want an auto-save function for the notes, but not for the game?
Anyways, I'm with you in a general sense; I've asked for this feature myself. I think some of the notes could be auto-jotted, like missions and stuff.

wowow, I couldn't agree more.
but, yes, it would have to be seperated from the savegame, but saved as well. (obviously)
so you do not lose your notes when re-loading after DNF or whatever.
shouldnt be too hard, sorted descending/ascending by date/time of post, along with the sector/system/object info and then the text, this would be very nice.
one could actually keep track of his/her travels.

PDA in vega strike, makes sense...
Hey a digital diary which allows us to create notes is great how about adding it as a separate function with addtional features such as a log on what missions you already have done and anything pending or any other pertinent data that would be helpful when playing the game or better yet how about renaming the pop up screen which houses the statistical screen and map screen into your personal pda much like in privateer of course with other features in it. it would also help a lot to get us immersed in the game without having to pause and shift our attention to writing stuff on paper and then unpausing and back into the action. and oh just a suggestion how about the shift-m be activated wilst on foot or on bases of course any map details conccerning your current mission won't be shown if there is none but the other data should be accessible.
There is no other place like the void of space...
