We shouldn't cope with Star Wars and Start Rec

Post by arno »

As Star Wars and Star Trek, by the time where Vegastrike happens, would be like Champolion's Pierre de Rosette.
In my opinion, Star Wars has nothing to do with Vegastrike, like Start Rec ( I guess the man who found the Star Trek title was getting bored searching a new title for the soap, when suddenly, as he looked by the recording console he saw the Start and Rec buttons ).

It may seem unoriginal now, but back in the 50's, when Star Trek started, I bet it was a killer title. Mostly the word "star". In a TV series. Man, that must have been mindblowing. I wonder why it wasn't more successful...

Hello Klauss.
I think it was completly successfull. I was afraid of Star Trek when I was young. Now, I find it has the charm of the 50's SciFi style ( much more artistic and creative than today in my opinion ).

It wasn't successful, though.
I think it was too expensive. In any case, it was an economic failure, even though the audience loved it. In fact, that's why there are only 3 seasons (years), when five were planned (as stated in the opening credits).

There was a nice amount of continuity among Star Trek II: Wrath of Khan, Star Trek III: Search for Spock, and Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home. For the most part, ignoring the time periods they visit while time-traveling, the Trek Movies have been chronological. Impressive for such a long series of movies.
