PHASE SHIELDS:
Largest ships without phase shields are the Paradigm, Caernaven and
Kamekh. Everything bigger
has phase shields (reload rate REALLY FAST).
Can be defeated with leech guns, leech missiles or milspec torpedos,
which become available after the Terrel plot missions. Milspec torpedos
are WC2 style and take forever to lock too. Main ship guns (antimatter,
phase transit) directly affect armor. Also need to make capship missile,
= torpedo with less lock time. Torpedos are have their own AI so that
they can try to avoid flak but can be blown up.

Fake Turret (bought at pirate bases, holds 5~10 cargo slots, not searched during contraband searches, no guns)
ASTEROIDS:
Null base unit. Level 1 (touchable/destroyable) subunits use a single
rock mesh, off-centered so that it moves if it rotates. Destroyable.
Units.csv entry for asteroid field will have tons of subunits there.
Occasional bigger rock. Mix between WC1/WC2 and WC3 style asteroids.
COMMERCE MODEL:
Planets:
Agricultural keep same
Oceanic same as agri, food cost less, less variety
Pleasure keep same
Rocky works same way as mining base
Industrial buys refined products, sells finished
(all others are uninhabited and use the "parking orbit" dock screen)
(exception: scripted planets like ND, Oxford, Earth...)
Bases:
Mining keep same
Refinery buys ore, sells refined
Pirate keep same
Civilian similar to new const
Military similar to perry
Research sells software, AI...
Factory buys refined, sells finished
FighterBase similar to perry

military bases of relevant factions have that faction's technology,
e.g. tachyon for Confed, leech for BW....
capships: merchant drayman are random (high stddev for everything),
military ships buy food, dirty magazines...
Good trade route example: Agri - Refinery - Industrial - Agri
COSMIC MODEL:
Move Gemini to "bigger planets" standard, and fix autogen so that
it looks between VS and Priv. When VS supports atmo flying this way
we are ready for it.
Script more systems as time allows.
Add things to wcuniverse.xml to specify which starbases to create as
well as which planets, if none specified, randomize as it is now.
Fine tune siege system.
At least one Kilrathi rebel faction (at Gorah Khar), can also be
used to generate rabble in Kilrathi systems.
BASE INTERIORS:
Possible to use WC2 screenshots in "doing a confed/bw tour of duty"
type missions?
New bases use sprites from existing bases, but changed a bit.

Add Tri-System somewhere appropriate maybe? (Maybe it's separated
from the only out-tri-system jump point by a VERY long chain of
autopilot-disabling asteroids so it's a PITA to fly to/from, thus
explaining why it's isolated)
PLOTS:

* Some way for player to get green gun back, maybe rival privateer
now has it, some sleaze like Menech to fight.
* Serve in the navy for a bit as prerequisite to buy Confed/BW ships.
Use specially coded capship with WC2 style interior, plotline fails
if player lands elsewhere unless so instructed, or takes other
missions
.
* Take on a major Kindred-like corporation, reward is own base (maybe
in the newly discovered Tri-System). Minimal base management interface.
For player, products locally produced in base cost very little. Base
is on a frontline and thus may be sieged and lost.
* Romantic subplot? Please?
* Things that tie in WC3/WC4/Prophecy -- seeing Nephilim ships if you
go into Hari territory or go back to Delta Prime perhaps, possibility
to come across Behemoth or Black Lance Base under construction, etc.
* At least one cameo by Paladin and the Bonnie Heather II... super
tricked out Galaxy maybe... hehe
* Quest that results in being able to own a proper capship, maybe
made to spec (see Delphinus in current game). OR, lease of a capship
to do covert ops agains the Kilrathi (Paradigm or Durango)
* Gorah Khar subplot that results in allowing you to buy Kat ships
* Occasional bounty hunter specifically targeting player once he is
famous
* Confed black ops guy who wants to abduct player to extort
information about Steltek -- possible further Steltek entanglement
* Star Wars or Battlestar Galactica or Lexx mini spoof plotline?
Example: old guy and young guy hiring player to take them to a
swordfighting tournment to happen on a space station, turns out
they find out space station houses some sort of terror weapon so
it must be blown up with the help of player.
* Satellite of Love: sells robots, movies
* Possibility to mine asteroids -- blowing them up releases
ore "cargo" that looks like a small rock polygon wise but can be
tractored+sold normally. Not too viable economically but people
could appreciate the touch. See game Starscape.
