Pretty impressive demo here. I don't know if there is any product or open source project built around this.

There are 10 types of people in this world, those who understand binary and those who don't.

Wow. The inpainting is also quite impressive. Too bad the link is broken because it would be nice to read more about it.

To the extent that people thinks the demo is a fake. (Youtube comments)klauss wrote:The inpainting is also quite impressive
Apparently it was a demo of a yet unfinished application. Here is an earlier project by some of the same researchers with code and libraries available but it's not like it has a gnu stamped on it so it doesn't look like we will see this in Blender anytime soon.klauss wrote:Too bad the link is broken because it would be nice to read more about it.

Yeah, I thought so at first, but re-examining the video I saw the imperfections. Hardly noticeable though. So the algorithm seems real, only amazingly good.gonzo wrote:To the extent that people thinks the demo is a fake. (Youtube comments)klauss wrote:The inpainting is also quite impressive
Still no joy.gonzo wrote:Apparently it was a demo of a yet unfinished application. I wonder how hard it would be to make a workalike program, and if it's patented.
I'd like to see this work in the wild. My preferred 3D modeling software is Lego. It's not very soft.

Well it work from a university or some educational center so it may end up being that way. Hard to tell.
