Since ships need to dissipate heat, they need some kind of radiator. Different races would likely have different types of radiators.
Rlaan-the massive "wings" on the sides of their ships. Probably filled with pipes of some sort.
Area-No idea. Could be some sort of special type of...glowy thing. Something that we could add easily to current models. Any suggestions?
Humanity-We have various types of cooling, including the bottom-mounted radiator system (a la Chuck's Llama) and the liquid-droplet radiators (a la Starbright's Duelist)
Heat dissipation solutions by race.

Re: Heat dissipation solutions by race.
Existing canon says that humans and rlaan ships usually/always have radiator fins, in addition to any other forms of radiators like those along the hull surface or droplet radiators.
The aera I think build the radiators into their hulls, with protective armor slats that close over them (or selectively close over those most at risk at that moment) during combat.
Mounting radiators only on the bottoms of all ships as a rule would not make any sense. Droplet radiators become highly impractical in combat situations, because the droplets fly off into space when you change directions.
But different factions can and do have different styles to their radiator surfaces, possibly reflecting differences vessel design or fleet application philosophies. Like for example, Aera might most desire survivable radiator systems at the cost of some efficiency, Rlaan might want the radiators on armored fins that surround and protect the hull by absorbing and dispersing impacts, Humans might want maximum heat dissipation with survivability concerns being of only secondary importance, and Uln might only really care about how cheap, easily and quickly replaceable the radiators are.
And there's been some talk about using different colors of radiators for different factions, like black for human, gold for aera and 'metablack' for rlaan, for example.
