Aeran artwork for the wiki
Just found out about your project and thought I would send you my take on the Aerans based on the wiki description.

Wow, that is really good! The large outward protruding eyes and the ridge separating the mouth, really make this species more believable. They now would appear to see in all directions, and be able to wipe any dribble from the mouth before it reaches the eye. I also like the unexpected location of the breathing holes, they are kinda like a permanent scowl. Looking at this model it minimizes the anatomy issues presented on this thread "Aera anatomy flaws". There is good detail in you work.
Since I think this is pretty good, I would motion to have it listed as Canonical 3d art on the Artstyle_guide:Aeran or beside the 2d picture at Species:Aera

That is superb.
Btw: "MetaReyes is a professional Metaball/Metamuscle modeling system for 3D Studio MAX"
I guess klauss was curious what techniques you used to create such a well defined [muscular looking] model.

I sculpted the model using Sculptris Alpha 6 and rendered it in 3dmax. Thanks for the appreciation, I have started modelling a Purth as well.

Don't forget to set the appropriate license as well. Great work though, when done think you can zip up the files and either post as attachments or email them to us? If we ever get to 3d interiors they could be useful as background filler.

This is top quality work. I hope there will be a Rlaan done to this level in the future.
What license would this need to be released under to become official concept art?

That I don't know... art for the site doesn't have to be as open as art for the game, though in both case CC-0, CC-BY, or CC-BY-SA should be preferred.

GPL, or any of the CC that allow derivatives and commercial usage. Derivatives is, obviously, to be able to expand on them, and commercial because most distros don't like it when you disallow commercial. Although, we don't package concept art, so I'm not sure about the NC clauses for concept art. Just saying.

Re: Aeran artwork for the wiki
Send him an email and pm. See if he will release it under GPLv3 or whatever this project uses. And try to get the project files and more renders at different angles with no background, just alpha (then you will have Aera "fixer" graphics).pheonixstorm wrote:Anyone hear anything from the OP lately?
