Aera Fighters are ordered to destroy the enemy at all costs.

I was trying to destroy an aera asteroid fighter base from the inside (in order to avoid getting hit by the either turrets or base patrols) when I noticed something odd. Aera fighters were firing on and making kamikaze runs at their own base in an attempt to get to me. When they finally destroyed their own base I simply speced my way out since there was no longer a gravity well.
