The other day I was doing the standard Atlantis -> Serenity run, and was approaching the dock at ~250. There was another ship just leaving the dock at the same time, which I struck with a solid <clang>
The impact sent me flying back away from the ship (and the base), but at an incredible speed! (I failed to get a screenshot, but it was over 10000). It would have taken me so long to get moving back toward the base that I just quit and reloaded.
So what caused this? Is my ship covered in superball armor (flubber?), or is this an effect of shields interacting? Or is this just a bug? There's no physical way that me colliding at 250 with something that was almost stationary would do that

The collision engine was replaced a while back, and there may still be some kinks in it. A while ago I bounced around inside Serenity for a while (as in within the mesh) . . . I think safemode's planning on fixing up issues like this post 0.5 because the problems are pretty rare and the collider handles most things perfectly.
