I seem to have lost the drone (Spoilers)

Mark to read spoilers:

So I ran Rygannon 3 with no problem. The alien ship was there. I got the gun, saved, took off and got promptly whacked by the drone. I reloaded and <poof> no drone. So I flew back to Palan & got my dough. Now, the alien ship is gone from DeltaPrime and I can't find the drone again. Perhaps I missed an important piece of information along the way?

Just go to the next miningbase and see if the campaign goes on. If it does, just keep playing. The drone will reappear when needed.
