Hi,
I am sorry if my question is stupid, but english is not my native language.
What is a different among fighter and interceptor? (Combat roles, in unit.csv).
I understand fighters and interceptors as a small fast ships for attacking trade ship and in bigger groups hunting bigger targets.
Thank you.

Re: Fighter vs. Interceptor
If you look at another .csv containing the AI prioirities you can see the different target priorities, which is what differentiates combat roles at present (there are some motivations to move to a slightly different scheme, but it would remain similar)mithrandir1984cz wrote:Hi,

Fighters are primarily for escort and superiority missions, and will (with proper balancing) have some degree of versatility in the missions that their weapons loadouts will support, but are primarily geared towards destroying the smallest tier of craft, namely, other fighters and interceptors.
Interceptors are specialized (sometimes overspecialized) for intercept and interdiction missions - that is, they feature higher accelerations that allow them to engage the enemy (hopefully) before the enemy is in preferred range of its targets, and weapons packages designed to rapidly terminate often larger targets (such as bombers), often at the cost of versatility, endurance (especially in terms of amunition stores), and survivability.
