Finally we're able to generate dot3-maps with Blender2.41 while running Linux.
It has a pretty good GUI and a nice preview function.
The real bonus for me compared to running ATI's normalmapper through WINE is that it supports merging of previous normalmaps.
Sofar I've only done some simple tests and it's working great, very intuitive.
