Two random "bugs"

Post by crome »

I encountered some erratic behaviour after playing for some time.
After a while I suddenly could not buy any ammunition for the mounted guns (they were not fully loaded).
The other strange thing that happend was that if I sold a Capacitor and bought another, better one the capacity for the jump drive would also get reduced and I was not able to jump any more. This happend in version 0.5.1.r1 as well as the latest version on Github.

Has anyone else observed this behaviour?

The behaviour is most likely due to a malformed csv unit definition file like a dropped comma editing those files can be a nightmare  as we do not have a fully functional editor for them just a few WIP's one in pascal the other in Python 2.7 with a minimal GUI.The Python one is fairly useful for adding new units to the game engine.

Enjoy the Choice :)

Well, I do not recall editing the unit files. Besides, I installed them in /usr/share/games (Linux), that location is not editable by the user. After recompiling ammunition can be reloaded, but the Capacitor issue remained.
From your answer I it take, though, that this behaviour is not that common. I will keep an eye on it.

PS: I noticed that the sha1sum on http://vegastrike.sourceforge.net/getfiles/ for the speech package is the same as for the data package.

That sum does indeed look suspicious not having a copy of it I can not verify.
