Where to get a Milspec Deriative?

I'm pretty new to the game, and still have the basic Llama, no upgrades, and about 200k credits I think. I'd like to get a Milspec Deriative as my new ship, apparently it's not too bad (looks great too). I see stock ones for sale a lot, but never (or almost, I might have missed it...) a milspec one Anyone know where they could be found? Since it's a confed ship, I suppose I could find it on confed base though...

Welcome Adarx you can usually find the mil spec variant at military bases ie.starfortresses and sometime at factories and commerce centers.the Derivative is a good interceptor lots of legs with it's combat speed at about 1000 meter/sec you can get to your target fast and when you get there you have enough firepower for frigates she also handles nicely in a fur ball.

Any idea where I can find starfortresses though? Don't think I've ever seen one in my game

There are usually a few in the in the systems next door to the start system.

Bernads star should have one, unless someone has destroyed it.

Oh, argh... I'm not THAT far from the starting system. I hardly stray further than one or two systems, unless i'm on my laptop which has VS Nav... That's probably what happened.

huh.. in 0.5.0 i had a painful experience that i could not find barnards star.. i think it had bugged out or something.. it wasnt where it was in .4.3 and havnt tried it in the SVN

I once saw a cap ship tractoring in a jump point. I just plasted the ship, saved, and restarted the gae and it was back.
