Cloaking devices are available from some Aera installations, especially fighter barracks and star fortresses. However I could not find any ship that can actually be equipped with a cloaking device.

I only found those in milspec-packages from the aera, and was unable to equip them, too.

If you just want to fly cloaked, the Schroedinger (Scout) has a cloaking device, dont know which one i bought, milspec or stock one, but this device works (not removable, its activated in the csv, as it seems)

Is it an universal device then, or like the aera milspec-package / extension, that doesnt want to be installed obviously?

I am not sure what restrictions jackS has placed on them for this version but in 0.4.3 they were not part of the mil spec package :D and yes installable so if you are of the hacking sort a look at the master_part_list.csv might tell you more

looking at the master part list is only helpful if you understand it enough to hack that component into your ships csv file

Yeah, im currently not that good, the last time i tried this, i broke the ships file ;D

What works, is enabling the "can_cloak" and so other values in the csv (i just copied the values from the Schroedinger's csv). Draknar, in case you didnt read this now on the forums, OpenOffice Calc for example can open the csv's, just use Kommas as separator there.
Doesnt display the upgrades in a nice way for me though :/

I'm a nub, but I docked an Unadorned Ox and found a cloaking device (under "Experimental"), so I bought it. I have it equipped to my Uber-Llama, but I don't know how to activate it and it reads as having a 0 energy output. I'm guessing I have to activate it first, lol.

But yeh, that's where I found it. Any help on getting it to work? lol

Press 'c' to toggle it. And be warned that certain Aera ships can sometimes see through it.

Blue moon is an expression an idiom that means very rare.

The expression is very old and was used to describe something of small probability 100 year floods storms etc..

Actually, blue moons (two new moons in the same month) aren't nearly as rare as 100 year floods :). By pigeonhole principle, you can see that they have to happen at _least_ once every 3 years (37 lunar months in 36 months).
