How do i find Earth ?

Post by peanutbutter »

This is a serious question.. how do i find Earth ?
The search function is horribly complicated, can't make head or tails of it.
P.S. I'm not new to VegaStrike.
Any help ...pointers ?
Thanks

Ah, I have the same trouble unfortunatly.... -_-

Just keep a look out for a jump hole named "sol" or "milkyway" or something...

(PS: It's been mentioned that the navigational function might be updated in a more updated release...)

I have used VSANV to find it, it takes about 10-12 jumps from Cephid.17.

I don't imagine these jumps could be taken randomly and you actually end up there. That would be 5^12 choices at most. 5 jump choices per system, and 12 jumps total. 250,000,000 choices, and only a few will actually get you there. Chances are slim.

VSNAV is mentioned somewhere in these forums, but I cannot remember where the link to download it is.

If I was to use the original nav system, would I just search the system, and click add search or something..?

I had the exact list some where, i will look for it.

Don't have the .txt file anymore, i metioned it in a post some where, which i will try to dig out.

Found it.

Cephied17, Stirling, Agea, War, Steakly, Theta-Ant, TCSC-1613, Hhrass, Kirk-pah, Prthivi-mata, Rudras, Cairo, Ogawa, Telamon, Sol.

It's 14 jumps.

Hey, are the links between jumps generated randomly like the obejcts within each system, or are they known beforehand? My question really asks, if one person has a route from cephid.17 to earth, would it work for everybody?

The jumps are defined in the galaxy xml file, along with systems and the basic planet types (and order among them) in each system. They are therefore static.
