Some planets don't want me
I point a planet. Press 0. OK, a little green square flash. I go on.
When I am very near (sometime, < 100Km), when I press "0", the square became all RED.
I lost a couple of rescue missions, because I could not dock on it.
Is a bug or it's me?
(or maybe I had to go on? I fear a SPLAT... I'm yet a Sunday's pilot...)

Yesterday I tried to commit suicide but incredibly, I survive!mortaneous wrote: You do need to get very close to some planets (<45Km was the smallest I've seen).
About 11Km, I docked. Now the Merchants faction love me (and Luddite hates. Oh, well). BTW, rescue mission, it's very dangerous. Make very angry not the whole faction, but few ships. You don't expect, with a rescue mission.
I don't understand why you get sometimes a red square. Maybe I should read the manual again.
(thanks!)

Rescue missions are easy -- take any fast ship with a tractor. Aim for the pilot immediately on arrival & vacuum it up. Hit flight mode & exit for the drop point.bpsl wrote:BTW, rescue mission, it's very dangerous. Make very angry not the whole faction, but few ships.
You do not need to kill anything. Any attempt to kill anything uses up pilot oxygen. Grab the pilot first and then, if you WANT to kill the local ships, then you can chase them without the time limit hanging over you.
I want to live in Theory. Everything works in Theory.

Yeah it really is boring. It takes so long to get so far in, the gravity well is humongous.
I agree. It would be fun to see some random crappy ship disintigrate into a gigantic flaming ball of Hydrogen.
