Surviving in the current SVN
A few observations on the current SVN data set and surviving in it with the stabilization of spawning behavior recently ;the rescaling of Cepheid 17 and Oblivion's faction textures the level of traffic is now significant so much so that it's down right dangerous everybody's real touchy the comm VDU is an obit list.
So before launching in the Llama armor lots of it and shields to the max playing clean(no save hacks) will be a challenge avoid hostiles till you get auto tracking for your weapons you don't what to hit the civvies they shoot back.
To illustrate after hacking me bank balance and pimping up the Llama took an in- system bounty mission 1 Luddite Redeemer piece of cake launch, select Stirling jump point engage ASAP and SPEC ,whoosh Spec multiplier drops about a 4 I'm in a swarm LOCK light flashing drop out of SPEC toggle “hâ€

yup. seems killing on of em (a lone pirate is not alone at all) would bring swarms of their buddies seeking your blood for revenge... difficult. The current "relaxing" mode, doesn't seem "relaxing" anymore. Not complaining tho. Tho I wish I wish for more AI algorithms.
A Step Into Oblivion
Dreams of things that will never be,
Songs of thoughts only I can hear,
Leave me be to sleep forever,
To dream my dreams,
And sing my hymns,
Of things that will never be...

Songs of thoughts only I can hear,
Leave me be to sleep forever,
To dream my dreams,
And sing my hymns,
Of things that will never be...

I think the AI should be changed so civilian vessels dont get into fights if they are not fired upon first. Right now they seem to be very trigger happy ( who is not LOL).
But the big mess an hostile ship creates when entering a system is fine IMHO.

uh-oh I think the Sartre's thruster placements are wacked. Or is it just in you copy, loki? Looks awesome, I've never seen what VS would look like in higher resolutions before.

SVN survival
Just tried this and think that it would be a lot more playable if the [h] key brought up the nearest hostile (if your sensors will pick friend or foe).
Lost of ships is good but need better tools for situational awareness. Nearest Hostile would be a good start, and maybe be able to purchase a Missile Approach Warning System (MAWS) as an upgrade so that there is some warning of torpedo/ missile proximity?? The threats with active seekers would be findable further out and the passive seekers only at close range or not at all depending on their approach??
Looks really good so far though. Well done to all who have been coding this thing!

it's on the the todo list i gather that sorting the hostile list will be tricky, missiles are in the hostile list aswell so could be taged some how

that was what was proposed in reqest foroum
so just add a binding line to vegastrike.config the bindings section then and what cmd does it map to

It's done, actually, but hasn't been assigned a key.
I'd propose 'r'.
