Killing Aera Capital Ship
Any tip (yes, I havent hacked my save file) on how to kill an Agasicles Aera Capital Ship? Torpedoes barely tickle that monster

I am not sure if it IS killable with firepower available to player. Haven't tried.
Or, are your torpedoes hitting? Capships are usually equipped with point defense turrets, you need to remove these....only way how to do it is to use main guns with high phase damage and hope you don't get blown faster.

It's get a cloaking device target each turret in turn while cloaked.uncloak blast the turret cloak target the next from a different place rinse and repeat till the turrets are gone now you start using your torps

The Agasicles has ~4 point defense turrets, so it will shoot down any torpedoes heading for it unless you destroy those as Loki described. Its other turrets seem to have a range of ~20 km, and of course it has missile turrets too. So the tactic that Loki describes does work, though I still get killed more than half the time.

The thing is, I had a bounty on an agasicles but my pacifier doesnt pack enough power. So (if I am not mistaken) you lose reputation when you abort missions (and of course I need the rep to get difficult bounties)... Thanks for the advice, but I casually found out my Clydesdale is a goddamn BULL I owned an agasicles with it, hell yeah!Of course, my Clydesdale was left almost dead... but I still kicked the hell outta that agasicles

Cool. I don't have the patience to fly something that slow, but if you are patient enough, and want to make a career out of taking down capships, the Clydesdale is a good choice.

I also like the Clydesdale because (almost) no one wants to mess up with me. AI are not intelligent enough to run away from my pacifier (unless the whole system attacks me, which incidentally happened once while I was on a bounty mission), but they are intelligent enough not to send packs of taxis (koalas) and hyenas to tickle my Clydesdale. It might be slow (which annoys me when I want to spec to a small target like a ship) but the fact almost no one insults me and bumps against me is pretty relaxing, especially before a bounty a** kicking
