Docking With a Capital Ship

Hi everyone,
I have an irritating problem.I usaully do cargo missions,on some of those missions,I have to dock with a capital ship.When I get to my final destination system,I select the capital ship and use auto pilot to get to it.After chasing the capitol ship halfway around the system(is this normal?)the capitol ship usaully rests by a jumpgate or a planet,or in outer space.If the capitol ship finally rests at a jumpgate or a jumphole,I can dock with it.

BUT when the capitol ship is at rest in obit around a planet,I get to within 1500meters or neaer(or when the octagonal docking frame is at the outer edge of the game screen),I press d a few times to dock,but I end up on the planet it's orbitng!!.I try to re-launch from the planet and select the ship again,no luck.I try to hail the ship,no luck,I try to use shift+0,no luck with that either!

It is driving me mad :evil: I hope somebody can help me with this one.

That may indeed be a bug currently the ship has no idea that you are coming :wink: so it just goes about it's business unaware of you there are a couple of new targeting keys that you might find useful.

and when docking with cap ships request clearance"ctrl 0" now :wink: wait for it's docking points appear and don't touch "d" till you are inside one that may keep you from auto-docking with the planet.

How do I implament that bit of code?can you tell me where it needs to go?

On a different notr,I need to ask a couple more questions.
1)I've noticed the latest updates on the SVN trunk branch are in the masters folder,I can use KDESVN to download them,but would I need to? would there be an option in ./confiurte to include those files(for example --with-data-dir=)

2)I have noticed a quite a few errors in konsole while running vegastrike,shall I do a clean compile(deleting the files that were not versioned when I open up the vegastrike folder with KDESVN? and do a log on the two stages of compiling(./configure and make) and on the vegastrike startup sequence?and then post them in the bug triarge section?

Those binding are already there just use them :wink: the masters folder are the originals before any manipulation to fit them to the game so we don't lose them.most of the errors you see in Konsole you can ignore as they are mostly from known issues and deferred bugs(we know about them but not fixed yet) so just do a recompile if the source code of the engine changes

:!: That's just changing the view to an outer cam perspective on my system, so i always use 'd', i can remember that in 0.4.3 docking-clearance worked.
When i want to switch back to other view it just flashes and switch back to the "ctrl+0"-view until i repress the "ctrl+0", or play around with the view keys to "unlock" this view (i didn't checked the detail of this behavior, if wanted, i could do this :?: )

So far I've docked with two capital ships when in reality I thought i was docking with Atlantis. They must have spawned right as I pressed the dock button. I had no idea what the heck happened... confused as all get out.

And I've run into two more because they just randomly spawned in front of me when I went to dock with the same said planet... capitol ship > llama :lol:

@michelsonluke don't bother answering my question about which version you are running in the other thread
they just randomly spawned in front of me when I went to dock
tells me that's 0.4.3 in the latest versions no more random spawning at all :D
