Advice for 0.5.0 ships?

Post by bpsl »

I played 0.4.3 and it looks changed a lot.
It's a pain, to start over.

Any advice about ships? Is the Dosto so good as was?
Thanks!

Most of the ships are the same the weapons are where there has been major changes the first thing you will notice is that the Llama no longer has medium weapons mounts  but the light weapons are better so not much of a loss you might also notice that you ship becomes harder to handle as you add cargo as it's mass now included for thrust calculations. There are also new key bindings so a check of the bindings section of the config file might be in order.

Enjoy the Choice :)

your also forgetting to mention the complete change in ship speeds..

Oh yeah and dont forget that the ships are re-organized.. cargo holds seem to be differnt (and work differntly)

it may not necessarily be a change ship to ship.. but it does completely readjust the way you think of each ship.. and the way you choose each ship..

That change in speed is just the numbers not the velocity itself

Km/Hr to m/sec

ahh ok, thanks.

trying to get used to this.. finally gave serenity station's inner docking bay a try.. got in there fine, but when I launched, I was partially in the docking area, and partially on the otherside of the wall. Ended up knocking arond so much they launched fighters and destroyed their own station around me! was not happy! I couldnt leave

Been there OUCH  how many bounces i think i managed 6 or 7  i had beefed up the armor and shields i have found though that in general it is a good idea to match your relative velocity to the unit you are docking to that way the numbers on your HUD become useful you can do this with the "Home" key i try to get my velocity down to below 10 meters/sec that way any nudges don't hurt to much

ended up killing myself trying to afterburn my way through the hull, didnt work :P
