Goals For the Project

I believe that this project should have definite goals in order to help focus the effort of it's developers. If you have any ideas for goals, please post them. =D

1. VegaTrek needs to have a "ready to go" downloadable package that contains everything needed to play. An "out of the box" version, if you will.

2. We need to figure out how to manage in-game saucer separations, as in Galaxy class and Prometheus class

3. We need to, at some point, design a realistic yet non-memory intensive damage model for the ships and/or shipwrecks (hint hint).

that's all I have for now.......please post some more if you get any awesome ideas.

I know....but the purpose of this thread is to help us brainstorm goals for the project IN THE FUTURE. I hope this will help focus the effort of the developers. I'm not saying "OMG MAKE AN EASY TO INSTALL VERSION FOR N00BS OMGLOL."

Hope that clears things up.

Agree, it needs goals.

I'd like a "tactical" mode. having several ships, command them like in NEXUS or HOMEWORLD.

+ a multiplayer mode would be really cool.

Imagine a galactical battle over several systems and YOU are the admiral!

Oh? I am just picking up what's been missing in all Star Trek Games up to now or has been incredibly bad implemented.
