Shields and all about them.

Hi!

I'm almost finished preparing rebalanced tables for each ship's shield system, hull and armor index.

But I have no idea how fast they recharge... 5% in second? Maybe 1%?

Need speculations on this point!

Of course I will prepare patch immediately! And we will have all defending systems working according to show.

Perhaps we will make some "improvements": decrease torpedo power in order to improve a lot gameplay.

Recharging shouldnt be too fast. Judging from the movies, 1% per second is enough. But what we would need is a starting boost. At the moment, when I go below warp (stop SPEC drive) I start without effective shields which then start building up slowly. However, in the movies, they can build up the shields (at least one time at the start) immediately. So there should be some shield energy storage available so that I can build up shields immediately when I need them (and this energy storage only slowly recharges).

Actually, Warp in VegaTrek shouln't drain shields.
I think that's doable in the VS engine with a config variable.
If I had the code at hand I could check, but I don't.
I'll try to do it at home and, if you don't get it and I haven't posted, feel free to bump.

Fixed, now shields don't drain while warp.

Have you thought of diverting power from sheilds to weapons and vice versa?
