Here's what is currently sitting on my HD. It has the new models, a bit of playbalancing (thanks Jennos!), and a whole heapload of bugs that still need to be worked out.

Awesome. Downloading now...

BTW, is this a self-contained version of VegaTrek, or should I extract it over my current VegaTrek installation?

Also, what version of Vega Strike is this based off of? If the main exectuable has a screenshot key I can probably cook up some sweet shots for the VegaTrek gallery this weekend.

you'll have to dig up your own .exe

it's missing all sorts of planet images...you'll need those for the textures to work properly

Gotcha!

I can't get it to load. I managed to fix the problems loading the missions and stuff but i then when it tries to load the meshes i get some error saying that there could be a problem loading meshes or something to that effect in the error text file.
Anyone have any ideas how to fix?

Ok here are the logs when i extracted the latest dump over the 0.2.0. I ran the executable from the 0.2.0 in the root directory
http://www.netsoc.tcd.ie/~brophis/stderr_initial.txt
http://www.netsoc.tcd.ie/~brophis/stdout_initial.txt
So i moved the duel mission what ever it is to the root directory and it loaded a bit further and i got this:
http://www.netsoc.tcd.ie/~brophis/stderr2.txt
http://www.netsoc.tcd.ie/~brophis/stdout2.txt
I copied everything over the vegastrike directory and got this i think:
http://www.netsoc.tcd.ie/~brophis/stderrl.txt
http://www.netsoc.tcd.ie/~brophis/stdout.txt
I'm guessing the problem might be with my executable. I tried downloading that other one on the other post but it's just vegastrike.28 file

Just got it to work, its not too hard.

Extract it to a new directory, then paste in /bin/ and /textures/planets/ from your vega strike installation, and presto!

By the way- Vega Trek rocks my socks!!!!!
The new LCARS hud rules! Also, the external cam in the hud is freakin' awesome. Great job peteyg.

Hmm.....perhaps someone should build a ready to go version of this, complete with the .exe and everything, and then post it. Because some people(like me) are too lazy to build the SVN. :P

Well......maybe not. Ok, let's get this straight:
1. Unzip
2. Put in a new folder (Vegatrek)??
3. Copy the /bin/ and /textures/planets folders into their proper places
4. Start it up

Is that right?? If so, I'll download it and enjoy! :D

thanks guys.

THANK YOU!!!! Though, I'll have to get an unzip utility THING to unzip it...:( Oh, well, small price to pay for Vega Trek. :D

Who knows, I might just go nuts and take a zillion snapshots

AND UPLOAD THEM ALL SO YOU CAN SEE THEM!!!!!!! :P

lol

I'm crazy tonight.

Probably from that Weird ALbum I got for Christmas...lol

ALbum..an album by "Weird Al" Yankovic

wait...what am I saying....this is supposed to be about how glad I am to get a working ready2go vegatrek thingy, but I'm also sad because I have to get an unzipperdealeybob, and now I'm talking about my favorite music artist????

I aplologize for wasting your time if you were in a hurry and read all of that. :(

BUT IT WAS A NICE DIVERSION!!!!! Procrastination, in small amounts, is good for you, I believe. But once you start sitting around and snoozing for 5 hours on end, it's very excessive.
