I'm thinking about making a mod based off Xenosaga and gears.

I just need some ideas what to add. :D

well start with working VS and then start replacing stuff (art and missions) until it becomes your own and you start demanding features
then start telling us what the features are that you demand and we'll make poor excuses and probably realize that making excuses is harder than adding the features, and so forth
then you'll really have a rolling ball and can release it and make it really cool

Hellcat is just cocky because he's developed a successful and fun open source 3d space game. It's actually a bit harder than just that. : )

But it's a good plan!

we're glad to provide help where necessary

you know: one of us should probably write a "howto make a mod" manual into the wiki and then the developers can add/correct it as it gets formed

How are you going to make a mod about a bunch of robots fighting in hand-to-hand combat with a 3D space flight engine?

well we'll need to add better animation support
we have some already--and that would be enoguh to make a tech demo
once there's a tech demo we'll work more on the engine support (no sense to go through tons of work only to have it not be used by anyone)
