Networking/Multiplayer Techy Question

Post by Itusa »

Just curious here but how much bandwidth does running a server take per user? What's the maximum amount of data that is sent per second sort of thing?

I'm curious because it's quite possible for a few home servers to be set up if we know the minimum specifications.

Don't have the slightest idea you might PM Eye~R as he ran one for a few years.

Enjoy the Choice :)

Answer:

(so far as I can tell)

The server uses only a few kilobytes an hour of bandwidth per user. Thus it is quite possible for Vega Strike to run from a home server quite happily. (Which are typically restricted to low upload speeds).
