mouse configuration
My middle mouse button is u/s, so I can't zoom the local map - is there no way to remap this function eg to the mouse scroll wheel? That would be more logical anyway.
Can't find a mention of it anywhere in manual mouse config.
Thanks,
Laurence

Yes, thanks, I've been there but what I don't see is the name of the command (mapzoom?) I want to bind to a mousebutton, or a name four the mouse scroll wheel.

There was a discussion on one of the map threads in which the third button of a mouse could be bound so you could press, hold and move the mouse - this zooming the map.
Nothing had come about though for a mouse wheel (not as yet anyway). If you get a mouse wheel working, feel free to put the details on the wiki manual config area.

mouse config
Nope, neither could I which is why I asked in the first place.
F10 F11 are specified in vegastrike.config as cockpit zoom in out why can't we use those in map view?
Supportwise I still think I am more than getting my money's worth (!) - my little'un was given a copy of Lego Island 2 for Christmas and I have still never got it to run, or got a single peep of support for it, let alone an entire forum and rapid answers to any question.
(Even if the answer is "find out and let us know"!)

Vega Strike's SDL is old... Wheel support is new.
Ah... I see the problem!
My SDL.dll is version 1.2.4.0
1.2.5 was released in Oct 04, 2002 (thanks to wayback machine).
We started using SDL *at least* two years ago (I'm pretty sure)
I guess it is time to upgrade SDL Maybe I'll get around to doing this during the weekend.
(1.2.6 has lots of changes since 1.2.4!)

That would explain why I thought there was no wheel support.1.2.5: Added SDL_BUTTON_WHEELUP (4) and SDL_BUTTON_WHEELDOWN (5)

If you get around to do this, are you also trying to include wheel support the menus (cargo/weapon/etc)?
It is a real pain to use the slider/buttons when one has a fully functional mouse-wheel at hand
EDIT: And of course 3d-shooter like weapon switching when using the mouse for ship control.
