Windows 7 Crashed

Post by starwarsfan07 »

Hello, am just new to Vega Strike and just downloaded the game and installed. However, I've got the problem, all runs smoothly until when I want to launch the ship in the hangar, it stops responding and then crash to Windows. I've been trying to figure out how to stop this crash? I really want to try and play this game. I've been trying to find some info in wikis but I can't find direct answer.

Please note that I have been trying to install, run as Admin and been trying as well compatible with win xp sp 3 or 2, but no luck, crash when launch the ship.
Any idea how to solve? Cheers.

Does it give an error report? If so, that would really help to pinpoint the problem.

You only have to run setup as Administrator Win7 does like that name it assumes that it's program installer must change that for the next release
Note: If you get any errors that sound like "reinstall the application", "the runtime asked to terminate the application", or "the application was not configured properly", then open up the folder you installed into, open "bin", and double-click/run the "vcredist_x86" program as Administrator. This problem seems to especially affect some Vista users

And Win7 that note from the download page

Hi, what version of vegastrike are you using?

ig4icd32.dll is an openGL file associated with Intel GMA graphics drivers, so I'd make sure those drivers are fully updated. Intel's drivers have been known to have some problems with full openGL compatibility, afaik. A graphics driver problem is also consistent with a crash trying to launch your ship. You might try lowering the graphics setting in vsconfig, and especially lowering or disabling shaders.

Ah, I see. I have downloaded the stable version one 0.5.0 ; and also I have also disable shader and made the graphic quality to medium.

Has disabling shaders and lowering the graphics quality fixed the crash? If not, you should try the graphics drivers. That's the most likely source of problem. If you have the latest version, reinstalling might be worth a shot.

ive had trouble running the 0.5.1 bundle too, kept crashing during the tutorial all the time.
the SVN download works fine, without any tutorial tho.
