Crashing on approaching Everett on Vista

Post by Dokutayuu »

Hey all,

It's a shame my first post here is to ask for technical help but here it goes.

I'm currently running Vista Home Premium and can play Vega Strike 0.5 fine. However, whenever I turn the autopilot on to go to Everett, the game freezes and a pop up says Vega Strike has suffered an unexpected error. I'm fine if I go anywhere else but if I try to go to Everett from anywhere, it crashes.

Thanks in advance for any help (or attempts :)) given.

First off welcome Dokutayuu and it's probably the way i started posting no reason to complain when it works  Some of the others running VS under Vista report random crashes that they blame on the video drivers but they haven't posted the log files so i can't confirm that and turning off the Areo interface seems to help OpenGL apps of which we are one.But i don't think that this is video related could you do a search for stdout.txt and stderr.txt on your hard drive since i don't run Vista i am not sure exactly where they are  but they should be in a folder called .vegastrike-0.5 in the app data area or in the bin folder of the install in Program Files(that's XP behaviour) and post them as attachments they should tell me more.Sorry about the vague instructions.

Enjoy the Choice :)

Turning Aero off seems to have done it. If I go wrong again, you've given me a few options. Thanks.
