Saitek x52 profiles

Post by Magnnus »

I like probably many of you out there own a Saitek x52 and love playing Vega Strike with it. However configuring profiles for the x52 can be difficult and time consuming.

I recently reinstalled my computer and am not looking forward to the grim task of recreating my profile. So I had the idea of asking the forum goers to share their profiles (being the little mooch that I am).

So go ahead and post your best profiles for the Saitek x52 to go along with Vega Strike. Maybe some of you will find a new favorite configuration or at least get a few ideas, and of course those without a configuration or those new to the game can quickly get started with a premade profile.

P.S. I'm not a complete mooch, I am already at work on my own profile, but i thought that myself and others could still benefit from sharing profiles.

Edit: uploaded the file as a .txt document, change the extension to .pr0 to use with the saitek profile editor

This profile was made quickly and still requires a lot of work, but I will likely be uploading further versions later. Also, feel free to edit this profile and upload your edits, no permission required.

Edit 2: updated profile (4/14/09)
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Welcome Magnnus there is some info in the wiki on joystick configuration http://vegastrike.sourceforge.net/media ... s:Joystick unfortunately not for the x52 but the Cyborg 3D,Cyborg 3DII and the x45 but they should give you the pattern a reminder the config file is XML so a syntax aware editor is handy as the game complains if the file is malformed any of the Linux text editors has syntax highlighting and on windows i use Notepad ++ have fun.

Enjoy the Choice :)

I wasn't actually planning to edit any of the Vega Strike files. I find it easier to work with the Saitek programming software, and since Ive already created a profile for Vega Strike with the programming software before reinstalling my computer I have an idea of what I want to do.

Just checked the Saitek site and they only offer there software for windows and there is no way for OSX and Linux to use there profiles at all as the driver architecture is different so there is no way of inserting the profile between the joystick and the app.But there are lots of windows users so go for it anyway 8).

Enjoy the Choice :)

well that's unfortunate, but at least windows users can enjoy it.

From the look of the format it's an .ini file which makes scene as it is initializing the profiling app.

Enjoy the Choice :)
